The Candidate
- Must have extensive knowledge of contract law, procurement processes, and contract administration specific to construction and infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience administering D&C contracts, including AS 4000 and other Australian Standard contracts.
- Strong commercial acumen with ability to manage cost forecasting, variations, claims, and progress payments.
- Skilled in tender preparation, negotiation, and contract execution with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ability to assess, mitigate, and manage contractual risk across project lifecycles.
- Solid understanding of heavy refurbishment and live environment construction constraints and methodologies.
- Familiarity with services upgrade works, including coordination of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) scopes.
- Proficiency in using industry software (e.g., Cheops, Jobpac, Aconex, Procore, or similar project management and cost control platforms).
- Strong working knowledge of construction timelines, milestones, and cost-to-complete methodologies.
Project Experience
- Minimum 5 + years' experience as a Contract Administrator
- Demonstrated history of working on large-scale refurbishments in commercial, healthcare, education, or industrial sectors
- Experience managing complex service upgrades within operational buildings and tight site constraints
- Successful track record of administering multi-million-dollar D&C contracts from tender through to project handover
- Experience liaising with project managers, superintendents, consultants, and client-side stakeholders to ensure contract compliance and project alignment
- Exposure to value engineering, buildability reviews, and cost-saving initiatives during pre-construction and delivery phases
