Job description

  • Work in a supportive environment with a high performing team
  • Price works valued from $1M - $15M
  • Still keen to chat with candidates looking for 200K and a senior role
The Profile

Our client is a design-focused boutique builder with offices in Sydney and Brisbane. They distinguish themselves from their peers by dedicating time to the early stages of projects, resulting in greater efficiencies for their clients.
With a solid reputation, they specialize in a diverse range of projects, including new builds, refurbishments, and fitouts across the commercial, industrial and heritage.

Culture Culture

Privately owned, the company’s senior management team hails from tier one and tier two backgrounds. This experience has shaped a dynamic, high-performing team and fostered a culture of flexibility and agility. Over the last 18 months, the State Manager has carefully curated a stable and high-achieving team.

The Opportunity:

Reporting directly to the General Manager and working alongside a Bid Coordinator you will be responsible for pricing projects ranging from $1M to $15M. Approximately 60% of the work focuses on fitouts and refurbishments, with the remaining 40% being new builds.

This is not a typical estimator role where you’re isolated to price BOQs; you will visit project sites, interact regularly with clients, and collaborate closely with delivery teams throughout the construction phase. It's an excellent opportunity for a tertiary-qualified Estimator to join a growing business with a strong, positive culture.

The salary range is expected to be between $150K – $180K, depending on experience.

With continued plans to grow there will most definitely be an opportunity for career progression.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review tender and contract documentation.
  • Attend site inspections with clients and subcontractors.
  • Prepare tender packages.
  • Request and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Measure and create detailed bills of quantities.
  • Issue Requests for Information (RFIs) to clients.
  • Prepare tender submissions, including schedules, construction methodologies, programs, and staging plans.
Ideal Background:
  • 5 + years of estimating experience in the local commercial market.
  • Familiarity with trades and services in the commercial sector.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies and market rates.
  • Knowledge of BCA (Building Code of Australia) requirements.
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience using Buildsoft software.
