Our clients' role is to actively grow and manage the supply of the right types of housing, at the right time, in the right areas, for people in need in our communities.

They are currently looking to engage a Senior Town Planner on a 12 month contract basis, based in Parramatta and WFH.

Role Description:

• Provide accurate and timely technical planning advice to internal and external stakeholders, providers, contractors, and consultants.
• Review planning assessment reports and packages to ensure they comply with planning legislative requirements, planning policies and department requirements.
• Complete planning and study reviews, provide advice and planning solutions, review third party submissions and project manage consultants, contractors, and providers (as required) in relation to planning activities.
• Conduct and document planning and legislative issues and reporting, project status and perform risk management analyses on project performance for early issues management.
• Advise on the appropriateness of different approaches to managing planning risks across projects. This includes identifying planning risks and environmental impacts and compliance matters to ensure projects are delivered in line with expected department objectives.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships and provide planning outcomes to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of projects to meet briefs, timelines, and expectations in line with Government planning policies.

Essential Criteria:

• A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the planning field
• Tertiary qualifications in urban/regional planning or related discipline or equivalent planning experience.
• Working knowledge of the Part 5 assessment system
