Engineering Manager – Precontracts Team (Water Infrastructure Projects)
Location: Sydney, NSW
Employment Type: Temporary Contract (Up to 5 months)
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager to join our Precontracts Team, focusing on bids and tenders for major water infrastructure projects. As a Principal Contractor in the industry, our client is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions that shape the future of water management. This is an exciting temporary role based in Sydney with the potential to make a significant impact over a 5-month period and possible extension.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the engineering aspects of bid and tender preparation for water infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including design, construction, and commercial professionals, to develop winning proposals.
  • Review project specifications, technical requirements, and contractual obligations to ensure compliance and competitive positioning.
  • Oversee the development of project methodologies, risk assessments, and value engineering solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and input on project feasibility, cost estimates, and resource planning.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure all technical aspects of bids meet expectations and standards.
  • Ensure alignment with the company’s strategic goals and objectives during the pre-contract phase.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or similar role within the water infrastructure sector.
  • Strong background in bids and tenders for large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian water regulations and industry standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Temporary availability for up to 5 months.
