Commercial Manager
We have an exciting Commercial Manager opportunity with a growing contracting group of companies who deliver civil construction projects throughout Perth metro and wider regional WA. Due to continued growth our client is now looking for an experienced Commercial Manager from a strong legal and contract management background to lead their precontracts / commercial function which includes a small team of Estimators and Contract Administrators.
The business is approaching tens years trading history and delivers a range of construction services including concrete, drainage, earthworks, ITS and substations for a range of clients including tier 1/2 main contractors and government agencies. Typical projects range up to $30m in value.
The business is currently growing outside of its core area providing an exciting time to join the organisation, having previously worked on transport infrastructure projects in the metro area. They are now tendering heavily in new markets including the resources space in WA. As such the ideal candidate will have gained experience working for main contractors or EPC’s in WA’s resources industry.

Candidate Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law or Quantity Surveying.
- 10+ years’ experience in a Contracts Management role within civil construction.
- Australian main contractor experience.
- Experience working for an EPC in WA’s resources sector.
- Understanding of Project financial management with an ability to interrogate and provide transparent reporting.
- Knowledge and expertise in handling claims, subcontractor management, planning and administrative processes. Proven negotiation experience, commercial contracts.
- Ability to lead / manage a small team.
- Risk management encompassing the development of commercial and risk profiles of complex projects.
- Full Australian working rights.
