They have been operating for over 15 years and have significantly grown over the past 5 years and are now one of the main players in the Brisbane construction industry.
They operate in the commercial fit out space and a large presence in the health and defence spaces.


Job Description

As a Safety Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our workforce across various projects in QLD. You will be responsible for providing expert safety advice, conducting regular site inspections, and implementing proactive safety measures.

This will be a roaming role between projects and you will report to the Safey Manager and the leadership team.

This role would suit a candidate who has a long career ahead of them and someone who has around 3-5 years experience working in Safety within the building industry.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Site Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.
  • Risk Assessments: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify and mitigate safety risks.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate safety incidents, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Safety Training: Deliver safety training programs to employees and contractors, ensuring they are aware of safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and other stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and legislation.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular safety reports and statistics to monitor performance and identify trends.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role with a builder of a similar size
  • Strong knowledge of Australian workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and 1 problem-solving skills. 
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
