Overview:
Our client is a leading Australian civil engineering contractor, renowned for delivering innovative and high-quality engineering solutions across a variety of sectors, including infrastructure, resources, and energy. They are seeking a skilled and dedicated Engineering Surveyor to join our dynamic team on a FIFO basis and contribute to the successful delivery of key projects. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals seeking to gain experience on large-scale projects while enjoying the flexibility and benefits of a FIFO lifestyle. You will be responsible for performing accurate field surveys, interpreting engineering designs, and ensuring all project specifications and safety requirements are met.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct field surveys to gather data on project sites, including measurements, elevations, and alignment checks.
• Interpret and apply engineering designs, construction plans, and specifications to ensure accurate survey results.
• Set up and calibrate survey equipment (e.g., total stations, GPS, and laser scanners) to perform site surveys efficiently.
• Work closely with engineers, project managers, and construction teams to provide accurate survey data for project planning and execution.
• Prepare and maintain detailed survey documentation, reports, and as-built drawings.
• Provide on-site supervision and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Assist with project planning, cost estimation, and risk assessments where necessary.
• Troubleshoot any survey-related issues on-site and provide solutions in a timely manner.

 
Candidate Criteria:

• Tertiary qualification in Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Registered Surveyor) are highly desirable.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role working within the civil / mining industries in WA.
• Strong knowledge of survey equipment and techniques, including GPS, total stations, and other surveying technologies.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Proficient in the use of survey software for data processing and reporting.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and precision.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to safety and a strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Previous FIFO experience is highly regarded.
• Current driver’s license and ability to pass medical assessments for FIFO work.
• Full Australian working rights.
