Job description

CGC Recruitment are in partnership with an environmentally focussed Australian main contractor who are currently undergoing a period of sustained growth. The business specialises in civil construction and remediation projects working heavily in the defence, mining and resources sectors nationwide. Typical projects range between $10m - $100m and include bulk / detailed earthworks, piling, excavation, civil infrastructure, soil remediation etc.
  
They are actively seeking a Civil Supervisor to work on a large earthworks project in Port Hedland and keen to speak to Supervisors with experience working on similar projects for BHP as a client. This is a site-based opportunity working on a 10:4 FIFO rosters with 20% site uplift.

Duties:
  
  • Site supervision of plant, labour, and subcontractors.
  • Efficient planning and co-ordination of all site work.
  • Documenting / reviewing / maintaining paperwork including Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), licenses, and tickets.
  • Enforcing and demonstrating safe work practices in all site-related works.
  • Ensuring that personnel is adequately trained and supported.
  • Assist the Project Manager or Project Engineer with site operations.
  • Monitoring progress to meet budget and targets.
  • Ensuring that OHS&E requirements are met.
  
  
Candidate Criteria:
  
  • 5+ years of civil construction or remediation experience working for a main contractor.
  • Heavy civil construction experience (earthworks and excavation).
  • BHP experience (desirable).
  • Proven ability to undertake the role of Supervisor and manage sub-contractors.
  • Strong people management and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take a hands-on approach on site.
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
  • Ability to work on a 10:4 FIFO roster.
  • Valid driver's license.
