Job description

About the Role

Work as the primary leading hand for a prominent NSW builder established in the construction industry for over 35-years.

Under the guidance of an experienced site manager and No.2 foreman, you will oversee and supervise a dedicated group of tradespeople, ensuring the smooth operation and delivery of high-quality work on schedule.

This challenging $6M commercial refurb and extension project will require an immediate starter in Inverell (Northern NSW). With a minimum of 7-months still to run and a number of further Northern NSW based projects in the company pipeline, this will more than likely be a Temp to Perm opportunity for the 'right fit' candidate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate on-site activities for a team of tradespeople.
  • Ensure quality control and that construction standards are met.
  • Take an active role in hands-on work (e.g., carpentry, site setup, etc.).
  • Manage site safety, enforce compliance with regulations, and address potential hazards.
  • Oversee materials ordering, deliveries, and stock management.
  • Liaise with site supervisors, project managers, and contractors to keep the project on track.
  • Monitor project progress, report on timelines, and assist in scheduling trades.
  • Mentor and supervise junior staff and apprentices.
  • Assist in maintaining clear communication with all team members.
Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Leading Hand or Foreman in residential and/or commercial construction projects up to $10M.
  • Strong skills in a range of trades (e.g., carpentry, concreting, framing, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and regulations.
  • Current construction white card and first aid certification (preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
  • A proactive attitude with a strong work ethic and hands-on approach.
If you’re ready to take the lead on a dynamic project with a reputable NSW builder that has a number of projects in the pipeline, we want to hear from you!
