Overview:
Our client is a growing group of businesses that are approaching their 10 year anniversary. The group of contractors includes civils and electrical contracting businesses that offer a 'one-stop shop' for their client base that includes a mixture of head contractors and private clients. The business has a proven track record delivering projects ranging up to $30m in value and including concrete, drainage and earthworks packages.

Based from offices in West Perth they are now looking for a skilled Civils Estimator with a strong background in civil construction to assist in the preparation of competitive and accurate tenders for a variety of civil infrastructure projects. As part of our close-knit estimating team, you will be responsible for the preparation of cost estimates, managing tender submissions, and ensuring accurate and timely pricing for projects across Perth and surrounding regions.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced estimator who enjoys working on challenging projects and has a keen eye for detail and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tender Preparation: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects, including site works, concrete works, earthworks, drainage, roads, utilities, and general infrastructure.
• Quantity Take-offs: Perform quantity take-offs from plans, drawings, and specifications for civil works.
• Supplier & Subcontractor Engagement: Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure the best pricing and project delivery outcomes.
• Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks in project scope, budget, and schedules, providing recommendations to the senior leadership team for mitigation strategies.
• Cost Management: Assist in the development of project budgets, ensuring all costs are considered and accurately reflected in the final submission.
• Tender Submissions: Collaborate with the project team to compile and submit tenders, ensuring all documentation is complete and delivered on time.
• Collaboration & Liaison: Work closely with the project management and construction teams to ensure smooth project handovers and alignment between estimates and actual costs.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, material costs, and construction methods to continually improve estimating processes.

 
Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a Civils Estimator within the civil or construction industry, with a focus on infrastructure projects (concrete, earthworks, drainage, roads, utilities).
• Technical Skills: Proficient in estimating software or other similar systems. Strong knowledge of MS Excel and other Office tools.
• Qualifications: A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related fields is desirable but not essential.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with local Perth construction and civil markets, including pricing, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in cost estimation.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively, ensuring cost efficiency and project accuracy.
