  • Current team of 180 staff nationally with a turnover over approx. $220M.

The Position
  • This position will suit an experienced Design Manager with a history working in the mid-tier market with builders who can manage both the front-end design and delivery phases.
  • You will be a key player in bridging the tender/EOI phase with project delivery while collaborating closely with Project Managers to ensure projects get off the ground smoothly.
  • Reporting to the Sydney GM and the Head of Design based out of QLD you form a team of 3 locally that will oversee the design management for the Sydney operations.
  • You will work closely with the site teams to plan and resolve design issues across private schools, hospitality and commercial projects valued from $10M - $40M
You will be office based in the Mascot / Alexandria however have regular visits to sites to attend meetings and help coordinate consultants as required.
  
Salary will be in line with experience but figures between 160K – 180K can be expected
  
Responsibilities:
  • Lead design meetings with internal stakeholders
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering and resolving buildability issues
  • Coordinate with team members to resolve design-related challenges
  • Produce reports for senior management
  • Assist project management teams in securing necessary approvals to begin construction
Key Skills & Experience
  • Degree in Construction Management or a related field
  • Proven experience across educational, hospitality or commercial projects in Sydney
  • Strong understanding of buildability and budget management within tier one or two markets
  • Experience navigating approvals processes with relevant authorities locally in NSW
