Senior Project Engineer - Civil / Mining
About Us:
Our client is a privately civil construction company who specialise in the delivery of heavy civil construction projects within WA’s mining and resources sector for a variety of mining clients and head contractors. They are currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer to work on a $15m FRP concrete scope. Thereafter the business has further bulk earthworks and concrete projects in the order book affording the successful candidate continuity of work.
As a Senior Project Engineer you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of civil engineering projects from inception to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects meet quality standards, stay within budget, and are completed on time. Your leadership and technical expertise will guide a team of engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to deliver superior results.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple construction projects, ensuring efficient project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Supervise and collaborate with site engineers, contractors, and project teams to maintain high productivity and quality standards.
- Conduct detailed reviews of design plans, specifications, and construction methods.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure compliance with regulations and contract requirements.
- Monitor and assess project performance, preparing regular reports for senior management and clients.
- Resolve any issues that may arise during construction, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
- Promote safety on-site by implementing best practices and ensuring team compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in project engineering within the civil construction industry.
- Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects on a FIFO basis within WA’s mining & resources industry, such as roads, bulk earthworks or concrete scopes.
- Strong project management skills, with a solid understanding of contract management and risk assessment.
- Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Full Australian working rights
- Australian main contractor experience and based in WA.
