Job description

Our client are a Sydney based Construction firm with an established reputation in the Defence and Government sectors.

They are seeking a hands-on HR Manager with a strong generalist HR background, ideally within the Construction industry. Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll oversee all HR functions, working closely with key internal stakeholders and an external HR consultant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to policies, awards, and employment legislation, specifically related to the Construction industry
  • Manage onboarding, leave requests, and core HR processes
  • Identify training needs and maintain compliance certifications (CPR, White Card, Working at Heights, etc.)
  • Advise on legislation, performance management, and grievance resolution
  • Partner with recruitment agencies, manage hiring process, and support employment initiatives.
  • Drive key HR initiatives and improve processes
  • Support workplace safety and manage claims with external providers
About You
  • 5+ years’ HR experience, including 1+ year in an HRBP or Management role within the construction industry
  • Construction industry knowledge with experience in Modern Award interpretation
  • Strong understanding of employment law & industrial relations (EBA experience a plus!)
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems & Microsoft Office
