Job description

CGC Recruitment are working with a National Tier 2 Contractor/Builder who primarily focus on Building and Civil Infrastructure upgrade within the Rail corridor. They are growing rapidly in SE QLD and have recently secured x2 Infrastructure Upgrades for their key client Queensland Rail. They are growing rapidly in SE QLD, targeting projects up from $5-300ml and due to this growth have identified a need for a Construction Manager to join the business on a full time basis.
 
The Construction Manager is a focal point for the construction works in all disciplines and ensures that the most safe, efficient and assured construction solutions are employed. You will be involved in all aspects of projects from pre-contracts/tendering, thought to delivery and final handover. The role will become an essential part of the Senior Leadership Team and help grow the QLD business.
 
The role will involve leading a team of construction & engineering professionals to deliver a complex scopes of work which includes; Civil, Structures, Drainage, Building, Finishing Works. The position will involve being responsible for the development and control of budgets, reporting of project progress, technical and delivery strategies, risk, project schedules, deliverable, commercial and procurement arrangements. 
 
We are looking to speak to construction professionals who posses the following experience; 
 
  • Tertiary qualification in construction, engineering or similar discipline from a recognised institution (i.e. Certificate IV or Degree), or equivalent years of experience
  • Construction Industry Induction Card
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in construction/engineering environment, including construction experience gained at Foreman level (projects with expenditure of $20M or above)
  • Working knowledge of HSEQ requirements and implementation of same
  • Ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements are satisfied
  • Competent in planning and organising work schedules
  • Principles and practices of contract and construction management, risk management, project scheduling and management
  • Principles of supervision, training and performance evaluation
  • Ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements are satisfied
  • Relevant rail experience is desirable
  • Understanding of sustainability principles in through all project phases including design, procurement and construction is desirable
