2020 has, without question, been the biggest, strangest, and potentially scariest year for CGC, and our clients, since we set up the business 10 years ago.
As we moved out of last year’s horror bushfire season and a technical (although unofficial) economic recession, we moved into a global pandemic and a very real recession. However, I think we’re all pleased that December marked the end of many restrictions and most Australians are now focused on recovery and growth.
It’s also been a difficult year for our candidates. During the height of COVID, recruitment was quite low on the agenda for many businesses in our industries, as the focus was on keeping businesses and projects going.
Of course, there are two sides to every story and thankfully for many in our industries, the crisis did, and will continue to, drive growth. Many business leaders overcame significant operational challenges and overall, the construction, infrastructure, engineering, project management and government sectors have performed better than many other Australian industries. We’re delighted that so many of our clients have continued to grow.
Whilst we had some slower months, we’re pleased with our current position, company performance, fantastic team, and that we’ve been able to support so many clients, candidates, and team members. CGC’s management group and all our staff wanted to take a moment and say thank you to you all.
As alluded to, November 2020 also marked a very significant moment for us – our 10th anniversary. A decade is an important milestone, and even with everything going on, this wasn’t lost on us. If you would like to find out more about the 10 years of CGC, please see the link below.
All of us here at CGC Recruitment send you and your loved ones our warmest wishes this Christmas and holiday period, and hope that the New Year sees your home filled with good health and opportunity.
We’ve very optimistic about 2021 and look forward to working with you in the new year.

Recruitment doesn’t really stop during the holidays, although it does slow down. As such our offices will be closed from 18 December to 4 January.
The break often gives us time, however, for career/team reflection, so if you need to talk with one of our experienced consultants, please
for a confidential discussion.
