Overview:
Our client we are a leading provider of high-quality contracting services to the mining industry, specializing in iron ore mining projects. They pride themselves on delivering safe, innovative, and efficient solutions to a clientele including recognisable tier one miners. Due to continued growth and exciting new project opportunities, they are seeking a Senior Project Engineer who will be a key contributor to the success of our operations.
  
As a Senior Project Engineer, you will lead and manage the execution of large-scale civil construction projects, ensuring the safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of services. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including construction managers, site engineers, and other project stakeholders. Your leadership and technical expertise will be crucial in optimizing project performance and maintaining high safety standards throughout all phases of the project. This role operates on a FIFO (Fly-in, Fly-out) roster of 2 weeks on, 1 week off, providing you with a work-life balance while working at an exciting, high-profile mine site.
  
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the planning, design, and execution of iron mine contracting projects, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technical staff, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation, identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Collaborate with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and effective project delivery.
  • Prepare detailed engineering designs, specifications, and reports, and present them to key stakeholders.
  • Monitor progress on-site, ensuring work is completed to the highest standards and identifying opportunities for optimization.
  • Provide technical support and advice to site teams to resolve complex engineering challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, health and safety policies, and industry best practices.
  
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in project engineering within the civil construction industry.
  • Proven experience in iron ore mining projects, including managing large teams and delivering complex engineering solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of mining operations, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and engineering design tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience working on remote site locations on a FIFO basis.
  • Must have full Australian working rights.
