Mechanical Estimator - Water Infrastructure Projects
 
Location: Sydney CBD
Duration: 2-3 Month Contract
Start Date: ASAP
 
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Estimator to join our clients pre-contracts bid and tender team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading principal contractor on large-scale water infrastructure projects. The role is based in Sydney CBD and requires an immediate start.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical components of water infrastructure projects.
  • Analyze project plans and specifications to identify and quantify cost factors.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
  • Review and interpret bid documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Conduct site visits to understand project scope and constraints.
  • Prepare and submit competitive bids and tender documents within tight deadlines.
  • Participate in bid review meetings and provide expert insights on cost estimates and project feasibility.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, material costs, and industry standards.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction industry, preferably on water infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components related to water infrastructure.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
