Job description

Opportunity

Mid-tier Sydney builder, with over 35 years industry experience, requires an immediate contract foreman for what will be an initial 8-week opportunity in Wollongong.

With the support of a site-based Project Manager, the general foreman will be tasked with driving the trades and subcontractors through to the completion of Stage 1 for what is an exciting and challenging commercial build.

This is a chance to oversee the progress of a project still in its early stages. With several wider Wollongong projects in the pipeline, this role could lead to either a long-term contract or a Temp to Perm opportunity with the well-known builder.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a foreman and/or Site Manager with a head contractor
  • Relevant qualifications in Construction Management or related field
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and regulations
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Comfortable working in early works and structures
  • Trade background (e.g., carpentry, electrical, plumbing) highly desirable

Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of the construction site, ensuring the project runs smoothly from start to finish.
  • Oversee the timely delivery of the ten-month multi-residential townhouse development in Forbes.
  • Coordinate and supervise trades and subcontractors, ensuring high standards of workmanship and productivity.
  • Drive the project to completion on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and regulations, fostering a safety-first culture on site.
  • Review and interpret construction plans, drawings, and project specifications.
  • Manage project schedules, daily site operations, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards and local regulations.
