Job description

This organisation are a well established and highly organisation with an enviable reputation for being a leading Infrastructure contractor who specialise in the delivery of projects in the Rail, Road, Mixed Utility, Renewables and the water sectors.

Their Australian head quarters are located in Sydney and they are continuing to secure project after project turning over in excess of $120M and have recently picked up several key projects in excess of $40M which puts them in a comfortable position for 2024/2025.
 
The Role 
 
This is an executive senior management position reporting to the General Manager and the Board of Directors. The key accountability is to develop and sustain the business’s growth strategy and secure the future pipeline of work required to fulfil this strategy.

Responsibilities 

  • Lead Generation: Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential clients, projects, and industry trends. Develop and execute lead generation strategies, including networking, attending industry events, and utilising online platforms.
  • Relationship Building: Establish strong relationships with potential clients, understanding their needs and demonstrating the company's expertise in providing tailored solutions.
  • Marketing: Increase awareness of the service offering to relevant audiences through various media
  • Positioning: Ensure data and intel is gathered and collated for opportunities for which our offering is compatible, maximise our likelihood of being selected for RFTs
  • Selection Criteria: Identify the optimal opportunities to contest that are most complimentary of our business’s vision and strategy.
  • Proposal Development: Work closely with Delivery teams and senior management to develop compelling, client-focused proposals and tenders that highlight the company's value proposition and competitive advantages.
  • Conversion: Manage post-tender negotiations including contract terms, pricing changes, and project scope to secure the best available commercial deal, while maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain an up-to-date pipeline of new business projects, tracking progress, and forecasting potential revenue.
  • Reporting: Provide regular, informative reports on business development activities, lead generation, pipeline status, and revenue projections
 Skills and Experience
  • A bachelor in Civil Engineering or equivalent 
  • Extensive experience in Bid management, Estimating, Operations Management within Civil Engineering 
  • A sound knowledge of contractual requirements
  • Strong commercial acumen.
