Job description

We are recruiting a Civil Estimator to join a growing privately owned Civil Engineering contractor who deliver civil construction projects across WA’s iron ore and gold mining industries for a variety of clients. Typical projects include heavy civil (haul roads, bulk earthworks, ponds, excavations), concrete, remediation and some SMP.
 
Based out of our clients’ offices which are located North of the River, our client are keen to speak to Estimators of all levels from intermediate to senior and are offering competitive salaries based on experience.
 
In this role you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of civil engineering projects from inception to completion.
 
Duties:
 
  • Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for civil engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
  • Utilise industry-standard software and tools to perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
  • Prepare detailed estimates, including material, labour, equipment, and overhead costs.
  • Evaluate and assess potential risks and opportunities associated with projects.
  • Present estimates to senior management and participate in bid review meetings.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, cost factors, and construction methods.
 
Candidate Criteria:
 
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying.
  • Experience working on Civil Construction projects in the Mining industry.
  • Experience working as an Estimator for a main contractor.
  • Experience in tender processes and procurement.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • MUST HAVE FULL AUSTRALIAN WORKING RIGHTS
