This specialist contractor has rail operations across Australia where it delivers track construction and maintenance projects for a wide range of public and private clients. Due to the expansion of these operations and opportunity has become available for an Assistant Bid Manager to join the Newcastle based team.

On a day to day basis you will support the commercial team to ensure complex tenders are delivered and are compliant with the company and client requirements. In addition you will assist with proposal strategies, evaluate commercial requirements, conduct risk assessments and develop relationships with key clients within the local rail market.

We are keen to speak with candidates from an engineering, business or quantity surveying background that have had exposure to commercial and contract management within the rail and infrastructure markets. Your ability to understand commercial risk, contract management and build effective relationships is key to this role. Whilst an understanding of the rail industry is helpful this is not considered a pre-requisite.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious candidate to develop a long-term career within the rail industry with a growing business. You will be mentored by experienced business and technical managers and will benefit from working with an organisation with an excellent profile within the rail industry.

You will be paid a salary in line with your experience with the budget for this role sitting between $90k - $120k.
